The space plasma environment effects laboratory, a large scale one in china, has completed a great deal of ground based plasma effects tests detector calibrations for pay loads of many spacecraft missions, including “Shijian No.4”, “Shijian No.5”, “Manned Spacecraft”, “Double Star”, “Chang’e Program”, “Mars Exploration Program”, etc. The plasma effects researches involve simulation of spacecraft surface charging, environment simulation and test for low energy ion detector, development and calibration of space plasma detector, investigation of temperature control material and solar cell charging characteristics, spacecraft wake effects, and ion damping effects, etc.
